Moving Beyond Hopeful Resolutions

The ideas found here and on the Simple Awakening Tools website are offered for people who are fed up with the standard ways society and our institutions offer for improving our lives and truly awakening ourselves.  Could it be that the deceptive institutions we have allowed to guide us are but reflections of imaginary ego? The week after Christmas has been the time when many think at least briefly about making resolutions for the new year to come.  Newspapers and the Internet are loaded with recycled tips about how to do it effectively.  It’s mostly the same old hyped crap, over and over.  Could it be that the lesson of the results of most of our resolutions is simply to get fed up with making resolutions that we doubt we can keep? Our way of making resolutions tends to be a set-up for disappointment, for blame of self or others, and for dropping resolutions like hot potatoes well in advance of February.  For those fed up enough with making resolutions that they break, fed up with with maintaining the status quo path of their lives, what is offered here may be of value. Many don’t even bother making resolutions at all.  They are, in effect, just singing this song: Most keep on muddling through life hoping something will change for the better. And that the change will last more than...

Life: For Most, A Process of Getting Fed Up With What Isn’t Working

There are few now that are ready to hear and feel what will be expressed here.  It takes true courage. With much of the “civilized” humanity in borderline chaos, depression or anger, few are yet fed up with all that to the point where they are willing to seriously play with new ways of responding to experiences of living.  Are you? To put it gently, actually: The vast majority of all the spiritual/religious/self-help resources available popularly offer at best a very polluted “solutions” to what has been collectively weakening us. For some clarity about that, see this. In the apparent weakening, we at some point catalyze true empowerment:  We get fed up with the standard “solutions” that have not worked.  Fed up enough to experiment with different ways of responding to life. Empowerment is catalyzed in the process of our getting fed up with the false prescriptions of ego and perverted institutions which, in our collective identification with them, have effectively prevented us from realizing the depth of our loving power and connected nature We have looked to a god to save us.  No such external god exists.  There is no giant deity in the sky who has a penis for some reason, no schizophrenic, all-powerful entity that is both fully loving and also willing to condemn you to eternal torture. We have looked for answers we can trust, and...

Most Spiritually Insane Thing Ever Said About Sports and Competition

Vince Lombardi, the revered football coach of the Green Bay Packers decades ago, has been pushing up daisies for a long time. No disrespect is intended here.  Sometimes, our most effective teachers educate us to quickly—or eventually—learn that their lesson is not a fit for us anymore. For many, he had a lot of directly wonderful lessons. We’ll look at some of those here, too. *** This is what he said: Living with that as a truth may be a great leap for some, yet it is a mud bog for others who might otherwise be ready for more spiritually advanced ways of living. There are many paths to awakened living. Part of the path for some is to pursue excellence in sports, getting skilled at playing chess, or being a part of a debate team. Valuable lessons can be learned in these processes. And playing the game from a strictly worldly perspective is a recipe for frustration and eventual surrender to more spiritually sane ways of living one’s life. Winning in the world has to do with beating somebody else.  There is someone else to outfight or out think or deceive.  Winning in the Big Picture is about finding your power in a way in which there are no losers. As long as any fighting is involved, the spiritual game cannot be won.   Awakening is a product...

An Einstein Power Quotation, Tweaked for Now

For a man who gave us so much wisdom with ideas and words, Albert Einstein threw us quite a curveball with this one expression: To me, that is about as convoluted an idea as what is presented in our schizophrenic religious scriptures and New Age babble.   Quite a departure from Einstein’s usual lucidity. Offered here is a different way of saying what he may have been attempting to express, presented in a way that may be more of a fit for our time. What we are is not defined by what we do or think. Consider, please, the possibility that it would not serve us to give up who we are.   Our essence is beautiful, powerful, calm, trusting and loving.  We have not realized that. Relatively weak forces have kept us from realizing it: ego and corrupt institutions. We have trusted in and identified with them, refusing to trust our true Selves. Yes, Selves.  Consider the possibility, please, that we are all connected and divine in a way that ego and perverted institutions hide from us. What we are basically here to do in this life—or whatever subsequent lifetime—is realize our loving, connected nature by letting go of the acting, thinking and identification that has kept us from this realization. What we are at depth does not evolve.  Changes in what we do, how we think and what we...

Einstein’s Hidden and Momentous Gift to Humanity

What we explore below is a set of radically different ideas to assist in accelerating and smooting the evolution of mankind. Few now have the courage to be open to this.  Most have more getting fed up to experience given their identification with the destructive “solutions” offered by ego and society before they might open to such ideas. It has been shown quite conclusively in studies completed decades ago that the square root of 1% of the population has the ability to enhance peace and shift collective consciousness.  When as few as about 9,000 people fully awaken, humanity will awaken.  Nine thousand people: that is the approximate square root of 1% of the world population.  There are now many pretenders, but few truly awakened.  It can be done.  Such is the power of love. *** The Greater, Hidden Gift of Einstein, and What He and the Scientific World Miss What is shared here is a simple invitation, for those who are ready for it, to expand your consciousness as a way of moving beyond whatever problems may have been stopping you from awakening yourself. Early on, Albert Einstein knew he was different.  He didn’t fit in.  Had “too many interests,” and was often thinking about things nobody around him could relate to.  As a youth, for example, he dreamed of what it would be like to ride a beam of light. Well into his 20s, enough...
